One of the best dramatic movies about AI (by infreferatai) |
If you liked such movies as "A.I. Artificial Intelligence" 2001 , "Bicentennial Man" 1999 , "Her" 2013 - you will love this movie too! Exciting, beautiful, romantic, it seems that about future which is near or maybe already here. |
One of the best cheesy sci-fi romance movie (by kajnatok) |
Even if the movie is not into explaining a lot on the science behind it, it is a love story between an android and its maker. The actors do a great job of putting the real dilemma of having a love affair with an artificial being on scene. Overall a very enjoyable and fun to watch romance/ drama movie with your loved one. |
Slow with a soul (by firstelement) |
First of all I feel like this movie didn't get the credits it deserves. The plot is great, the acting is phenomenal by both leads, beautifully shot. It's must've been badly advertised to the wrong crowd or something because I found that I was such a pleasure to watch. Slow with a soul, a beautiful one that is - is what I thought of this film. |
Deserves so much better than its current rating (by sarah_fonseca) |
First review. Had to make an account to say this. The movie is really beautiful and raises a lot of questions I really had never thought about before. I went through a series of different emotions during this film and I thought it was really great. Performances were strong, the movie itself is beautifully shot... I might watch it again. |
Zoe The Future Now (by jeff-2051) |
If you're into Simulation Theory and the "future" of AI, then you'll understand this film. If you are interested in ST or AI, this is a wonderful interpretation of the ideas. If you're holding onto religious dogma, you'll never understand the truths within it. It's not perfect, but it's as close a representation of the true nature of our reality that one can find in or instant world. |
Long, slow, beautifully shot glimpse into a possible future (by ScoobySnacks66) |
First off the movie is long and slow but it's gorgeous and thoughtful and posits a number of ideas related to AI and human/machine relationships once we've figured out how to surpass the uncanny valley and create unmistakably human like androids. How will they feel? Will they love, can we love them? What is love anyway? Both Ewan Macgregor and Lea Seydoux are stellar as they explore love, jealousy and loss between human and sentient machine. If you're patient and thoughtful, a very rewarding film. |
A thinking mans movie... (by ndjs) |
The slow pacing will turn off many, but the story and implications of the subject matter fascinated me so much that I watched it a second time, this time through the eyes of knowing what was going to happen. |
Excellent variation on the AI theme (by djbaxter-980-742507) |
This movie is absolutely worth watching, probably more than once. Excellent story. Excellent performances. Just a beautifully done film. |
A beautiful underrated movie (by demoiselle-rouge) |
A movie that made me ask myself a lot of questions. Would I fall in love with a synthetic? What would I say to a friend that falls in love with a synthetic? Would I trust one? Its slow pace is not necessarily bad or boring, it gave me time to think and feel all sorts of emotions during the movie. I loved the soundtrack, it really put me in a meditating state of mind. A movie that made me wonder a lot about what it really means to be human. Cloud Atlas, Ex Machina, I Robot, Upgrade, are other movies that made me think a lot on this subject. |
