everything was evenly distributed story-lines/info and they gave nods and mention to plenty of things, like hybrids, telepathic abilities, animal mutilation etc. Lighting, Atmosphere, Sound FX, ALL top notch! I liked it from beginning to end. The movie was great, but the ending was just soooo right. Sad? A little. True? You better believe it. I can't find better things to say except that this is a must watch! Finally 'The Greys' in our face! Thank you! This! is where the bar is at now. They raised it pretty freakin high, any to follow are gonna have a tough time matching this level.Please keep it up Vicious Brothers! clichés not that there's non in this one and delivers its goods on a new fresh level of sf B rates. I am very happy to see how they approach to this particularly miss understood very often laughed at theme and yet even with some moments that could be categorized as funny and pathetic, movie still somehow holds its seriousness even when all the other tries to fail. Everything is not great nor bad, its just flirting around those low medium high great moments constantly and tries to stay on the road along the way, and as far for me, they did a pretty good job at it.

It is definitely an original film that you can watch over and over! Recommend this to almost everyone!

really sure what the reviewers on here that posted bad reviews were expecting from an independent film but I felt for a inde film it was top of the mark. The people that posted bad reviews just really need to stop watching movies altogether. There is a little of three movies wrapped up in this film and they are Fire In The Sky, War of the Worlds, and Close Encounters and I do respect all of these major films and love them but I also saw a bit of each movie in this one film especially Fire in the Sky. I highly recommend this movie if you like aliens and a little scare.

on special effects; inclusion of lots of abduction/ET lore; decent acting by the young unknowns; inclusion of a legend in Michael Ironside, and he doesn't disappoint; and one of the best endings that I've seen in a long time.Too many times I've been so disappointed by attempts in this genre, but this really is one of the best efforts that I've seen.Too often I've watched movies with 6 or 7 star ratings and been very disappointed, but the low rating on this totally irked me after I saw the movie. So much better than the 5.3 suggests, especially for the type of movie that it is and the audience it's playing to. If you liked 'Altered' and 'Alien Raiders', then you should love this.Kudos to all involved in this little gem, thanks for exceeded my expectations by a mile.

suspense could have been higher without this. Also, the movie tells its story in a very classical way and cites many well-known sources, so if you want innovation or surprises, you'll have to look elsewhere. Nor can you expect another Alien or ID4. Still fun to watch, with a macabre ending.

official member of IMDb for 11 years now and this is exactly the third review I'm going to write. I only do this when I feel absolutely compelled to share my experience. Coincidence or not, out of the three, this happens to be the second one about a Vicious Brothers' movie.Now I'm not much of a fan regarding stories about aliens. I do believe in extraterrestrial existence, but the movies about them were usually just plain boring. The exception to the rule would be 'Dark Skies' which I found quite unsettling and amusing.The only reason I was waiting for Extraterrestrial was simply because it had 'By the Vicious Brothers' on the poster, and 'Grave Encounters' was that very first movie after 'Paranormal Activity' that really scared me again. So I went in to this movie hopeful, but realistic, expecting to be disappointed.Boy was I wrong. I don't know what it is with these Vicious Brothers, but they have the unique talent to do just about anything right. My first horror loves were 'Halloween' and 'Friday the 13th', being that standard 80's kid. I could never explain what it was about those movies that made them so special, but all I can tell you it's that there is this special atmosphere. The atmosphere that makes you feel jealous that you're not there, until they all start dying.To me, Extraterrestrial had exactly that. The perfect atmosphere. Cozy campfire feel right until things start to go very wrong. Now as always I refuse to spoil things so I can't go in to deeply. The actors were cast perfectly in my opinion and their pasts and drives became clear very fast. The effects are not overdone, but where used they were more than perfect. Once again, without spoiling, when you watch the movie, the rain sequence is a perfect example.As I loved the way Ghost hunter shows were not being taken too seriously in the beginning of 'Ghost Encounters' I absolutely loved the way this movie deliberately included the classic horror movies stuff. As in, in Horror movies people always do exactly what they shouldn't do and that's pretty much what gets them in trouble. All the clichés like 'If you drink or do drugs you die' are there. Also the filmmakers 'tell' you that they understand you're not an idiot. Once again I'm going to refer to the rain sequence in the movie. I'm not going to tell you what happens, but when you see it, you know exactly what's going on before it's disclosed. This is so unbelievably cool that you need to experience it in my opinion.Having made that point, I would just like to add that I had deliberately not read any reviews about the movie before watching it. Having seen it, I see there are a lot of bad reviews. I don't understand them. It once more proves to me that people's opinions simply vary. It's a shame when people don't watch movies because of the bad reviews, when in this age of the internet just anyone can write a review. The fact that they can doesn't make them experts, including me. I just wanted to give you a taste of my experience. I'm not part of the crew, but I wish I would've been. Vicious Brothers, once again you leave me longing for the next one, chapeau.

and what not . But I'm kind of sick of seeing that and this film was literally just what I wanted in an alien film, FINALLY . It wasn't really a slow-burner . I mean it took about what, 20 minutes to get started but after that it was on a roll . Needless to say I enjoyed the hell out of this movie, like a lot .So let's hit some points here . The acting was, I feel, pretty decent collectively . There were some moments I was like "okay... we'll let that go" but overall nothing that broke the immersion from the film . One of my absolute favorite parts was the musical score . Yes it's cliché as hell and has probably been done in millions of movies out there, but since I was so engrossed with this film, every time something alien-esque happened and the intense soundtrack would kick in, it sucked me in even more . I loved it . The special effects I thought were rather nice . My sister and I were saying how it seemed like a lot of fun working on set with all the flashing lights and crazy goo and just, it seemed like a blast .Again, am I in no way a qualified critic . I am no JeremyJahns . But I do highly suggest that, although reviews can reflect a films quality, that's not always the case . So glad I took a chance with this one, I wasn't disappointed . I was looking for some horror alien abduction fun, in a genre where that's quite difficult to find and I got it . I highly enjoyed this film, and if your looking for just a fun alien time where your willing to accept the loopholes that may be blatantly or present, I would recommend this .
