I don't get it (by mikerules666) |
Why would anyone who watches a movie like this expect there to be some sort of plot. The review I saw for this is dumb. Obviously , the critic has never seen the cartoon version of Yogi Bear or he would know that it is supposed to be random. It's a silly pair of characters. That is what makes this movie so good. Yogi and Boo Boo have always been silly characters. I mean if you expected this to be like a regular movie, then you need to get into another line of work. That's like anyone that saw the Rocky and Bullwinkle movie and thought it was supposed to be serious or something. The <more> |
Awesome Family Fun!!! (by Pumpkin_Man) |
This movie was fun to watch from beginning to end. I haven't seen any of the cartoons yet, so I couldn't compare it. This would be a perfect summer movie, and clean fun for the whole family. Yogi and Boo Boo are adorable and hilarious together. They live in Jellystone Park and often cause trouble for Ranger Smith when they try and steal pic-a-nic baskets. When the evil Mayor Brown orders Jellystone to shut down, it's up to Yogi and Boo Boo to stop him. Along the way, Ranger Smith falls for a woman named Rachel who happens to be a documentary filmmaker. Don't listen to the <more> |
Laugh - A - Licious (by rawvibes) |
Jellystone Park's 100th anniversary might be the last one. The parks attendance has dropped off badly and the mayor sees this as a great opportunity to fund his campaign for Governor and bring in more funds to support his life style. Mayor Brown plans to re-zone the park so that he can sell off JellyStone land to Loggers. In comes Rachel, a girl who wants to do a story about a certain talking bear named Yogi, but finds herself helping the park after hearing about the mayor's plan. Yogi, Boo Boo, Ranger Smith and Rachel all team up to try and save JellyStone Park from closing forever <more> |
Great Movie! A Jump back to my childhood. (by jomelonia) |
My only complaint of this movie, though there was a goof or two I noticed, but too insignificant to mention , was Yogi's accent. In this day and age of linguistic training for films, you would think they could have trained "Yogi" to speak exactly like the original Yogi Bear. That was a major disappointment not to hear that old familiar sliding and drawing out of words that "he" had a way with. The new Yogi also talked way too fast compared to the old. It was like watching/listening to an impostor playing Yogi Bear. Also the Yogi and Boo Boo costumes were not quite <more> |
For what it's worth it's actually good! (by mitsubishizero) |
I understand why critics don't like it and it's not hard to see why but I liked it. The movie stays mostly true to the source material it's adapted from. If you watched the show you pretty much know what it's about though in addition to stealing picnic baskets from visitors and not being caught by Ranger Smith Tom Cavanagh they have to save the park from being shut down by the greedy Mayor R. Brown Andrew Daly . Dan Ankroyd and Justin Timberlake give spot on performances as Yogi and Boo-Boo. The reason it's a star from a 10 is because of how Boo-Boo's pet turtle was <more> |
Almost best of both worlds; a live-action love story and a 3D talking bear movie (by MosHr) |
Yogi bear and Boo Boo are animated characters inhabiting a live-action, non-CGI world. It does come with it's awkward scenes where the actors stare off at a distance to a character right in front of their eyes or seemingly overly labored CGI human interactions. Except for these moments, Yogi and Boo Boo keep to themselves and their adventures in 3D, most notably when snatching baskets from a home-made glider constructed from common park items. The romance of Ranger Smith and Rachel really comes off as sweet, Ranger Smith being equal parts bumbling and equal parts authoritative and <more> |
Best Cartoon To Live Action Film EVER! (by exchronos) |
Alright, most live action movies made about cartoons are not worth watching. This film actually remains true to the source material. Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake whom I doubted would be good in any film or doing anything both do very believable voices for the main characters of Yogi and Boo Boo.Admittedly, there wasn't much laughing in the theatre that I can recall, but there were some very humorous moments. The story does suck you in though, despite the story being a bit trite and unsophisticated. The main thing is that the film captures the spirit of Yogi Bear beautifully. There is <more> |
A good 3D movie for the kids. (by JustAnEpicPerson) |
Yogi Bear is about Jellystone Park about to get closed down because the town is bankrupt. Due to this, Ranger Smith Tom Cavanagh throws a party for Jellystone so more visitors come in, more visitors, more money. But Yogi screws it up. So now they must save the park somehow before it gets closed. Yogi Dan Aykroyd and Boo Boo Justin Timberlake do a good job at voice acting. Tom Cavanagh also does a good job, but everyone else does a bad job. ESPIALLY THE MAYOR Andrew Daly HE DOES NOT EVEN TRY. The 3D is pretty good, so if you have a Blu-ray 3D at home, try to rent this movie.OVERALL: <more> |
