Fantastic film. Brilliantly cast. You will not be disappointed. 1st time director and he hit a grand slam with this high tension thriller. |
Tense thriller (by will-17632) |
Impressive directorial debut. Tension builds throughout and is predicated on dialogue and anticipation. My assumptions were continuously tested and this movie kept me thinking well after it's conclusion.Dale is amazing and the movie is overall very well-cast. |
Amazing Movie (by mikearamayo) |
Wow, this is one for the intellectual amongst us. Such an amazing edge of the seat thriller. |
Tight (by white_tipped_tails) |
This is a lean movie. It looks great, spits fast, and stays with you. |
A rare gem this year. (by vojoanime) |
How do I start with it, guess like the movie i suppose weak and then boom action. The movie has strong characters, each and every one of them is defined, there are no "robots" in this movie characters that do as they are told and have no opinions . The story is made to look fast because of the storyline but it is actually well paced. It starts slow, with weak character information and more and more buildup. I do not want to ruin the movie for the people but I doubt you won't enjoy the suspense of the movie, you may not like some parts of it but you will not get bored or know <more> |
SMALL MOVIE, BIG STORY (by kirbylee70-599-526179) |
With the abundance of mega-budgeted, star studded films being released each year there are a ton of smaller films that gain little notice but that possess more storytelling than those same effects laden flicks we flock to at the nearby theater. Fortunately we have access to those movies, movies that deserve more attention than they receive, once they hit DVD. One such movie is THE STANDOFF AT SPARROW CREEK.Alone and listening automatic fire and explosions ex-officer and now militia member Gannon James Badge Dale turns on his police scanner and hears that a militia group has gunned down a <more> |
Fast Flowing and Gripping Gun Culture Thriller (by Raven-1969) |
Militia members gather underground in the aftermath of a mass shooting to discover something disturbing. An AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, the type used in the attack, is missing from their cache. Interrogations ensue, tempers flare and threats fly as they try to discover who among them knows something before the police arrive. Confusion, mistrust and fear spike as word comes that an extensive plot is underway and neighboring militias are involved in something ominous. Everything depends on where and who the information comes from and truth is in short supply. This fast flowing and gripping gun <more> |
"Cleverly Crafted Thiller" (by ajawan-30359) |
The Standoff at Sparrow from Cinestate and director Henry Dunham is a bone chilling thriller that really grips you up until its final moments. The dialogue based film really keeps pace and helps keep the viewer in suspense and awe to the story's revelations. I reccomend putting this in your watchlist if you want this cleverly crafted thriller to shock you like it shocked me. |
Lights. Camera and...... (by nfb-50051) |
I loved the lack of music. I hated the lighting. Shot in a poorly lit timber unit, even when shot in what I thought was a disused office building. Where was that, was it attached, above or below, the lighting was poor. I disliked the lack of character building. All that being said I did watch to the end and thought it reasonable film making and story telling, might watch again to see if I missed anything. |
