Nice addition to the franchise (by UnderworldRocks) |
This is a nice addition to the franchise. My only complaint is that it is not scary. A Ring movie is supposed to be scary. Alright, perhaps the original Japanese movie set the bar too high. None of the American remakes can you put on a par with the Japanese original. Even the 1999 Japanese sequel cannot reach the height of the 1998 groundbreaker. Actually, the 1999 sequel sucks big time for me. I didn't like the idea of that cursed child possessing weird psychic powers. It is not in line with the idea of being chased by imminent death.By contrast, I prefer the 2005 American sequel. It is <more> |
One of the best 2017 horror movies. (by pramod-72568) |
Movie "Rings" has resemblance to the original story "Ringu" watching a video tape which leads to death , but rest of the story line is vastly different. I wish they picked a different name which is more compelling, but this movie has very good actors who are familiar to TV viewers and overall movie sound effects and editing is very good with a decent ending. So far many were harsh to give this movie a rating of 4.5, which almost made me not watching it. I can't still believe conjuring 2 gets 6.7 while this movie is a 4.5. I am giving it a 10 to compensate for the <more> |
Very Good! (by zebragirl-47113) |
This movie was very detailed, very descriptive and played out really well. I loved it. Although, afterwards, I had a dream that night about a bug like creature, as seen in the movie, going around my house. I was running from it but could not get away from it. It was so weird. But I loved the movie so that is all that matters. Though I can compare this to Scary movie 3 because they both the girl from this movie in it. Though, they both ended differently. One got knocked into the well and the other dried out and sank to the bottom of the well. Both very well written. |
Wow..... (by jonerogers) |
i will keep this pretty short and to the point, are you a horror lover? if yes then go see this. its really good and I thoroughly enjoyed it, it had content and suspense and it was entertaining what it wasn't was a total same as the original remake. after all why would you live in hope that a remake a decade or so more would be the same with some new CGI!! no!! I hate seeing the reviews on here slating the new remakes and quoting 'it was nothing like the first' or 'it was nothing like the books' seriously if you like books then go read them and if you like the original <more> |
Absolutely incredible (by zombojenkins) |
Rings was a great sequel of sorts to the series, and had a multitude of elements that made it great. It kept the creepy atmosphere that the previous two movies executed quite well, along with a rabbit-hole of mysteries that you couldn't stray from until you got to the bottom. The mysteries, themes, and resolution all were quite satisfying to me, and I absolutely loved the small twists that they produced throughout the film. The scares in it, although infrequent and not an important part, were done quite well, and had a lasting impact. The special effects on Samara in this one I believe <more> |
not that bad as told by many (by jopereira-92781) |
I liked the film and would see it again no probs.. it is not that bad.. for starters, it links to the first film, has a start, has a development and has an proper ending.. most of horror movies nowadays are terrible, and this is not one of those at all, I'm sorry, it isn't.this film has structure, meaning, consistent and there are parts where you really get to be scared..I'de recommend, loved it.. |
Not bad as people say it is (by sitajason80) |
I've just seen the new Rings, I don't really want to include this movie into the franchise. But the story is good, because people are confused of this movie. This is NOT a prequel/remake. It's a simple sequel. I hate it and I love it. I agree with the 'cheap' jump scares, but when you've seen the older movies. There were barely of them. When I've seen The Ring 1, I think it was scary because Samara was such a mysterious girl who kills people over a video tape. The Ring Two was a great story about her before she was adopted, but I didn't like it compared to <more> |
Why is this movie so much hated? (by steven-loontjens-94-440406) |
I liked this one... I liked the scares, although there aren't that many! I liked the new spin they gave to the Samara-legend! I liked the fact that new media was involved to spread the movie that brings up Samara... I liked the acting and the music... I don't understand the hate around this one! |
