They call her Mabel Simmons, but everybody knows her as Madea. This elderly but agile, six-foot-five, African-American matriarch can whip her own weight in cops. She can mangle Biblical scripture, but still make her points. Atlanta-based filmmaker Tyler Perry has now helmed three theatrical features about this short-tempered, bespectacled, gray-haired grandma who packs an automatic pistol in her purse and isn't afraid to use it. In Perry's latest comedy "Madea Goes to Jail," an impatient young woman in a red convertible swerves past Madea's Cadillac as our heroine <more>
A great way to mix drama and comedy (by bearfaceproductions)
Nobody has to expect for the movie to be better than the play. This one wasn't better than the play, but it was still great. Two stories in one, make this movie a hit. A man tries to help a prostitute go through the right path, meanwhile Madea makes her crazy moves that land her in jail. The movie was most drama, due to the long story of Candy. But when you see Madea, all you can expect is a good laughter that will leave you breathless. I expected more Madea, and I found the movie a little short, but the reason is because we get accustomed to the plays which last longer. But Tyler Perry <more>
does another masterpiece that is a must see for the whole family.
In this Funny comedy Tyler Perry brings back Mabel Madea Simmons. In this movie Madea starts out in jail from her last movie Meet the Browns after beating up the cops. Apparently she gets off the hook because the cops didn't do something that they had to because they were fighting for there life. Madea says if God got her out of there she would go by the church. Her daughter Cora says Madea you said you were gonna go by the church which she did. Thats' when Cora and Mr.Brown say that she was gonna go into the church which Madea never said she said that she was going by the church. <more>
When Mr.Brown and Cora drop Madea off she sees that Uncle Joe threw a party because he thought that she was gonna get locked up. So he lies and says that the party was for her homecoming. So then she goes up stairs and gets her gun. Which leads to Mr.Brown running out the door and jumping off the front porch saying she's got a gun. And then you hear a machine gun shots in the background. The next day she goes to Kmart and gets beeped at by a woman in a porch. The woman in the porch then takes the spot that Madea was going to take. And Madea gets mad. Then Madea parks her car in a different spot and sees a construction site. She gets the fork lift and picks up the Porsh and the woman comes out and says put my car down my husband is a cop. Madea then says OK and drops the car upside down. And the woman calls her husband and Madea jumps across her car and drives away. That's when she gets arrested and goes to jail. The woman attorney that defends the city is getting married and one of her cases is against her fionsays old friend and she gets arrested for seventeen years. The woman attorney's husband finds out that she cheated at her cases and the people that got arrested because of her get set free. But before Madea's cell mate tells Madea her name and her name is TT and Madea thought she said Titties. And at lunch the woman attorney's fionsays friend gets her seat taken away and the woman that took it sits down and Madea says excuse me sir sir someone was sitting there. And the woman says I won't movie but the Madea says I'm sure your a nice man but someone was sitting there thats when the woman gets up. At the end of the movie the woman attorney gets arrested because of her cheating on her cases. And when the people she put away get released Madea is the first one into her cell and the first on out. Then Mr.Brown and Cora are in an interview and Mr.Brown says I'm going to buy her a white suit and she is going to church this time. That is almost all about Madea Goes To Jail.
I hated Tyler Perry, but I loved this movie (by Peace9321)
This made me laugh out loud a lot of times. Usually I find Perry's work to be dull, and typical "Fried Chicken" type of jokes if you know what I mean. I honestly do now know how anyone could of rater this lower than a 4 or so.The characters were played well, Madea was hilarious in my opinion, along with her brother and children.I give this a 9/10 because it made me laugh out loud more than a couple times which hasn't happened since Role Models. There is an issue of race in this movie, like there seems to be about everything. The fact is if you go into this movie expecting <more>
some LOL comedy, and not to be offended by Tyler Perry's perceived racism, you will have a good time, and will most likely like the film.
I'm really not sure why this film is getting such a bad rep. on IMDb, but the general public LOVED this one. What a winner! The two different plots in the this film were brilliant! This way, the movie had a little bit of everything. The whole time I was on the edge of my seat. I wouldn't say the two different stories "meshed" well, but there was a great moral to be learned. My favorite thing about this movie, and all of Tyler Perry's films, is the wonderful "feel good" mood they leave you in. His productions can always brighten the day. Enough said, this movie <more>
was more than satisfactory. Some people are clearly just too hard to please.
