i believe every movie deserves credit for trying. even though it didn't seem to be like the perfect movie in the entire world but however the production team and the director did what they could to make this movie work out. they got the cast from the originals back and almost everything. although it was a different director but i still give him credit for the work he put in for this movie and i give the credit to the rest of the team and the stars. it was very enjoyable. so thats why i give it a 10/10 because they tried everything to make the movie work. if they were to make another <more>
sequel my advice to them is to stick with whoever directs the original as the director instead of changing directors during sequels.
This movie had all of the great things you remember from the first 2 stories as well as new additions. Its a movie that blends comedy in with moral issues and lessons. It is inspirational for kids. It has the underlying truth that honesty is the best policy. When people are dishonest in the movie quirky things happen to them. The message of family importance is repeated throughout the movie. Family will always be there for you. The characters are so different but they come together and all love each other dearly. They all have something to teach one another.I highly recommend that if you have <more>
children you take them to see this movie. Ben Stiller and Robert DiNero are electrifying in this witty comedy.I don't want to get into to many details because this is a review not a spoiler. At times this movie brought tears to my eyes and others it left me hysterical.I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
i can not believe critics didn't like this movie. compared to meet the fockers its amazing. i actually think this was the best one out of the 3. the cast was great and Jessica alba finally did a good role. she was good in machete, but i saw that she can act. no one would of guessed. Robert De niro and ben stiller were brilliant. they had a better relationship in this movie then is all the other ones. but ofcouse there relationship went bad once deniro thought stiller was cheating on his wife. deniros daughter in the movie. but he wasn't. Dustin Hoffman got about 8 to 10 minutes of <more>
screen time but did good with the time he had. also finally deniro and stiller got in a fight. a real fist fight. it was hilarious. especially when stiller hit deniro in the ball pit and stiller went in with the other kids. deniro was still under the ball pit and he kept moving under and they played the jaws theme. then stiller yelled get out of the ball pit and kept yelling it til everyone came out. and the funniest thing about the fight was that it was at stiller's kids birthday party. my recommendation. see it.
This movie is hilarious. The laughter is nonstop as the Robert DeNiro once again proves that he is one of the great actors of American cinema. Mr. DeNiro's portrayal as Jack Byrnes is brilliant and generates lots of laughs as he projects his distorted fears onto his hapless son-in-law who is completely overwhelmed. Everyone in this movie is funny. Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand showcase their comedy skills, especially Ms. Streisand whose portrayal of a Jewish grandmother television talk-show personality cannot help but produce laughs. The actors in this movie are so funny that they <more>
steal scenes from Ben Stiller who is a great straight man for all the other funny characters. Indeed, Mr. Stiller should be nominated for a Best Straightman Award. The misunderstandings around "Andi Garcia" are is source of much amusement as Jack Byrnes is busy investigating what to him is evidence of betrayal of the family, one of Jack's delusions, a take off on the Godfather theme. This movie is a must watch for anyone who likes to laugh and enjoys lighthearted comedy.
The critics have been bashing this movie along with Tron Legacy. Little Fockers is just plain old fun. Although hands down the first one Meet the Parents is a classic and Meet the Fockers is a worthy sequel. Little Fockers is still a fine addition. The whole point of a comedy is to have fun and laugh. This is exactly what Little Fockers does. I was very excited to see this movie. I thought this movie could have been better because some of the jokes just fall flat. It is fun once again to see Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro back on the big screen together. People shouldn't listen to the <more>
critics, they practically hate everything. This isn't the best movie out there but I had a very fun time. It is also obvious that Dustin Hoffman was added in the last minute. This movie could have been a lot better if he was in there from the start. This is a fun movie.
Ten years later the Fockers are back again. Greg and Pam are having a birthday party for their twins, which means another reunion between the Byrnes and the Fockers. Greg is spread a little thin these days with the remodeling of their home, the twins new school and birthday party. Greg decides to get a part-time gig as a speaker for a new drug called Sustengo, an erectile dysfunction drug. Jack's looking for a new leader to be the head of the Byrnes Family for the next generation. Watch and see the whole family meet up for the twins LITTLE FOCKERS birthday party. HATERS BEWARE. Meet the <more>
Parents Franchise has never been about a great script but about laughing hilariously and having a fun time. This is better than the last installment and I'm sure IT won't be the last. I had a laughing great time and you will too. Jack Byrnes ex-CIA Robert De Niro – Dina Byrnes Blythe Danner - Greg Focker nurse Ben Stiller - Pam Focker Teri Polo – Roz Focker sex therapist Barbra Streisand – Andi Gracia Drug Rep Jessica Alba – and the TWINS - Samantha Focker Daisy Tahan - Henry Focker Colin Baiocchi 4 out of 5
Typical Focker Fun...NOT FOR KIDS. REALLY! (by DaynaSu)
I can't help but be annoyed by all of the reviews poo-pooing this movie. What did they expect of a Focker film? Surely this is not going to be nominated for any Oscars...but I suspect that the demographic the filmmakers were catering to are not looking for a classy, thoughtful movie. They are looking for an escape from reality. They want to laugh.I laughed a lot during this movie. Giggled, actually. Like an idiot. Because that is what the Focker series is all about. The plot line is uncomplicated. Father in law Jack is sensing his own mortality and looks to Greg to lead the family in case <more>
of his untimely demise. Greg, meanwhile, is dealing with job changes, house renovations, and the flirting/sexual advances of a drug rep.Despite the title, we see very little of the Little Fockers -- five year old twins. Their scenes are hilarious, and I hope there is a movie in the works that actually focuses on the children.Though Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand make appearances, their parts were greatly reduced from the last Focker movie. I wish they, too, would have been in the movie more.Teri Polo Pam Focker and Blythe Danner Dina Byrnes were like wallpaper. They added nothing to the film. They could have been written out completely or replaced with cardboard cut-outs and nobody would have been the wiser. The dumbstruck, dumb blonde looks on their faces never changed throughout the film.Ben Stiller as Greg Focker was as he always is...perfect. As a Focker. He really can't be anything else now. He's Greg Focker.Robert DeNiro Jack Byrnes did a nice job this time, but it fell short of the prior two films. Though, it may have been on purpose. His character was meant to be losing steam. He was still the best character in the movie.Jessica Alba drug rep Andi Garcia was over-the-top goofy, but again...it was what her character called for. This is ABSOLUTELY NOT A MOVIE FOR SMALL CHILDREN. I halfway considered bringing my 7 year old daughter to see it. Based on the PG-13 rating and absence of a parent's guide due to the newly released status , I figured it would just be a bunch of fart jokes, and nothing she couldn't handle. Boy, was I glad we didn't bring her! LOTS of penis and sex jokes. We would have been answering questions for DAYS.Long story short...if you liked the other two, go see it!
I had an open mind about this film. Not many sequels make it to number three successfully. If you have seen "Meet the Parents" and "Meet the Fockers" you know what to expect, more of the same. The only difference is, this one seems a little bit more serious, with hidden messages. The criticism I would have is in the title. Which to me, is nothing more than a way of making a third movie, and not much to do with the Little Fockers, and on that note, there really isn't much to say about them, unfortunately. It's not an Oscar winner, it's not "hilarious" <more>
but does have it's funny moments. On top of this, it seems to put the characters to bed, ties up the loose ends, and allows for Greg to be finally accepted into the Burns clan. For example. The much praised "Dr Bob" the perfect "Kevin" were both ideals for Jack, but this film reveals their faults- something we haven't seen before. At the end of the film, it was not only acceptance from Jack Greg got, but also Greg gaining his own confidence, and that's where I think the messages lay. Simply be yourself, and don't judge a book by it's cover. All in all, a pretty good movie.
Some in-laws can act like OUT-laws! -- But the sequel "WORKS"... (by jimchudnow-1)
This is is the 3rd in the series about a family the Fockers with "ECCENTRIC" in-laws... BEN STILLER plays Greg Gaylord Focker, head of a nursing department at a Chicago hospital. His wife Pam TERI POLO is a loving and supportive companion who enjoys raising their twin "Little" Focker kids – smart & tall Samantha DAISY TAHAN who's angry at Ben & not speaking to him, & her short, klutzy lizard-loving brother Henry COLIN BAIOCCHI Ben's rich-but-nutty friend Kevin Rawley OWEN Wilson calls him from Europe via a computer connection, <more>
happily announcing that he's met someone & intends to get married -- news which pleases his ex-lover Teri Plans are under way for a 5th-Birthday party for the kids-- but Ben is upset that his hired contractor Randy Weir HARVEY KEITEL has been doing a poor job getting his newly-bought place ready for the event At work, Ben meets a pretty drug company rep Andi Garcia JESSICA ALBA who wants him to tout her new sex-assisting product at an upcoming industry conference, but he's undecided about the idea of doing it to improve his financial situation Speaking of sex, Ben's mother Roz BARBRA STREISAND is happily running a sex-ADVICE show on TV which tends to continue embarrassing Ben to a degree . His equally-embarrassing sexually-open father Bernie DUSTIN Hoffman is busy following his own "muses" over in Europe As you may remember, Teri's parents are the virtually-polar-OPPOSITES of Ben's folks, with her ex-CIA-type investigator dad Jack Byrnes ROBERT De NIRO usually "UPTIGHT" about something, & his wife Dina BLYTHE DANNER keeps working to try to "calm" him down What's got Robert especially upset are the actions of another son-in-law, Dr. Bob THOMAS McCARTHY who's worked to leave his OTHER daughter. That & other stresses start to cause Robert to have some HEART problems which he naturally tries to "SELF-medicate" All that has made Robert especially eager to find someone he can "trust" to eventually take-over "MANAGING" his extended family. He is thus especially "dwelling" on BEN as a possibility for that "position", which he grows to call a "GOD-Focker" He starts his usual tactic of secretly "INVESTIGATING" Ben when he & Blythe come to town for the upcoming Birthday party It should come as no "shock" to you that Robert's "research" eventually learns of the existence of JESSICA in Ben's life If that weren't "confounding" enough, OWEN comes to town, & -- since his new love "dumped" him --, he's now re-absorbed with the idea of TERI as a perfect "companion" for him witness a new tattoo he's gotten, etc. Will anything be really "GOING-ON" between Ben & Jessica?... Will Owen's "assistance" help or actually HURT Ben & Teri's attempts to get their kids into a ritzy private school run by Owen's ex-lover Prudence LAURA DERN ?... Will Robert's intensity & obsessions cause more PROBLEMS in the Focker world?... Will the arrival of Barbra & Dustin for the party cause even more "COMPLICATIONS" for the family dynamics?... There's a lot of quite FUNNY scenes in the film. Yes, there's a bunch of "exaggerations", but Ben plays his role "straight" rather than just for "laughs" & thus is a fine "FOIL" for Robert & the situations that arise with him & Jessica & the kids It would've been nice to have even more interactions with Barbra & Dustin, whose roles are somewhat small The cast all seem to be having a GOOD TIME with their roles, thus coming across as "enthusiastic" & believable with the often-swirling nuttiness For a sequel, it's surprisingly EFFECTIVE-- & the ending might well presage a hoped-for ADDITIONAL continuation of the story with an intensified "harping" / nagging / interference by the inlaws It's not a "great" comedy-- but it's FUN, & thus I'm rating it 8 out of 10 stars
