be my favorite movie soundtrack and definitely in my top 5. The music and this movie go really well together, hand in hand. Most movies have maybe one song I love with it, maybe not even that. This is one of the rare ones where I dig every single song and gives the movie a great vibe and overall presence.Movie has great twists and turns, keeps me interested, and the internet angle to things is a fun spin on it. Certain stuff may make more sense in a second go around. I found myself thinking about it a lot after the first time and it became clear I needed to rewatch to make sense of certain things better. On second watch I can confirm, very solid movie, very atmospheric, well written, well acted, definitely worth a go, at night, and not with people who talk during movies.I hope we see more films like this. I also dig the abandoned college angle.

This movie came out in 2014 and most college students have smart phone by then. I guess she is cash strap from having to pay the high tuition cost. She could also secretly be a drug dealer. They use these type of phones as burners to throw away at end of each use so Cops can't tap into their conversation.And oh the cliches. Just look at ways to survive a horror movie and you know who is not going to make it. The security guard-DEAD for being black and an authority figure. He is also the first to die-go figure. Justine friend who place she ran to-DEAD for smoking pot and saying I'll be right back. His dog-DEAD for being a larger breed. If he was a pug or a cat he would have made it. The killers wouldn't have the heart to kill something so cute. This movie would make a great drinking game-one shot per each cliche.All in all a great movie. It belongs with other classics as the Room and Troll 2. Definitely check it out.

guard down and say the big L word to her boyfriend . They let us know she was at school on scholarship and had no car--which is why her roommate left her hers--which is a good indication she didn't have money. So we know right away that she is not really a 'Kristy', yet Violet mistakes her for one because she sees a pretty girl with a nice car that goes to a great school. it takes a while for Justine to officially fight back, because most sane people don't think to attack back, but when she realizes she has no choice, she goes all in. The tension is high and the kills are brilliant. Definitely worth a second viewing.

on the edge of my seat right until the end, a rarity in modern horror films. Haley Bennett in the lead role does an excellent job of keeping us thoroughly rooting for her. The killer masks are effective and creepy, much like 2008's 'The Strangers', killer's masks are a great way to add that extra layer of fear to the audience. Altogether a very finely made horror movie that I hope a lot more people get the chance to see.

They are a serial killer in several US state and try to upload the photos and videos to internet with code "KRISTY".Justine was become a target when thanksgiving and the dormitory was empty. Struggling with death, Justine can take over the lead the cat and mouse and killed the killer.I am surprised with the story goes. The twist is so smooth and entertaining.Just wonder why the title change from Satanic to Kristy to Random.So...If you like a thriller, cat and mouse chase, scream taste, beautiful cast, without nudity but one sexy scene only few seconds , average blood level, go watch this movie.Cool! 8/10

it's called "Slasher Flick" . In designing said game, I studied the genre extensively, analyzing every little aspect and compiling exhaustive notes. So, I'm well- versed in the subject matter. With that being the case, when I tell you that I had to hit the "pause" button a few times to let my heart slow down a bit, please understand that that's a rather big deal. Few movies have made me do that.The acting was beautifully naturalistic, giving the characters a certain connectivity lacking in many slasher movies. They were believable, as there wasn't any overacting to sever the cord of realism. The tension was palpable once the movie got rolling. The camera almost always followed the protagonist, cutting the viewer out of what the killers were doing. This had the effect of putting us in the heroine's shoes, which added to the fear factor. I also think the college campus setting was used well to create a sense of isolation. Truthfully, it would have been perfect as a horror video game level. But I digress,Some critics have grumbled about the fact that the supporting characters were just there to die and added little value to the story. I do feel that Wayne the night watchman of the dorms should have been around longer before being offed. I think he could have added a lot to the film. Having said that, it didn't bother me. Justine was clearly THE focal character and she was the only one the killers were after, so in a way, having the other characters become more involved would have detracted from that focus.In the end, I thoroughly enjoyed Kristy. It was a fun and tense roller-coaster ride that lacked in innovation, but made up for it in thrills.

However, I doubt only one student would be left alone on a college campus, but maybe. I took online college classes, so I don't know what they'd do in the college dorms. Anyway, I thought it was well done, just like Ashley's character at the end. lol I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to see a new horror movie that is fun to watch. My problem with these kind of horror films, though, is that you know the good girl character is going to make it out at the end. It's just a matter of how she kills those who are trying to kill her. It would've been more original and realistic had they killed Justine. It's not as though she was taking hand-to-hand combat classes or was known as a tough girl at all. She was a swimmer and a runner. Still, I had fun with it.Haley Bennett Justine/Kristy and Ashley Green Violet did a good job in the movie. However, why hire Ashley Green if you barely see her beautiful face? The acting was very good, and I believed Haley was really terrified.One thing I really didn't like about the movie is the title. In one poster it's called Random - which makes very little sense, especially when the bad guys keep referring to Justine as Kristy. Kristy - the title I've seen on other posters - makes a little more sense, but they should've called it something else like The Campus Massacre or such.I gave this an 8-star rating because it was pretty original, the story was good, so was the acting and the atmosphere. Overall, it was a very entertaining movie. It's not one of those stupid horror/slasher films that laughs at itself. This was done in a serious way. I had nothing to do with this movie, but I wish I had. :D
