Perfect fantasy-horror of the new Hispanic school (by sepial) |
Within the field of horror, fantasy and mystery something has claimed and gained growing space that could almost be called a new Hispanic school, sporting Spanish and Latin-American writers and directors, who, also advancing into English language cinema, keep those 3 sub-genres tightly together, departing from cheap shock moments, gore and, most importantly, treaded out paths of all too predictable haunted spirit- and other solutions in favour of drama, complex story-lines, an involving root-idea and the very basic of fear. Not surprisingly, especially in respect of this last aspect, many of <more> |
Great Movie (by ashton-81864) |
I do not know if I am the right person to write a review for this movie. Only because I get scared a little easier than the next person. But for this film, It kept me on the edge of my seat, It had my attention the whole time. Even made me jump a few times. You will not regret it once watching this movie. Kind of made me scared to go right to sleep after seeing it, because I thought something was hiding in the dark corners. Very interesting, but causes your mind to go nuts. Would watch this film again if I had the right person to watch it with. My cat can not save me with films like this. HA <more> |
A great thriller with some good scary moments.. (by blaineanna89) |
It is not everyday you see writers with the gift of storytelling. Not only being able to tell a story but also being able to translate it to the screen. I have to say that Intruders was an excellent movie because of that. The amazing Clive Owen leads this film playing the father of a girl who is being visited by a nightly intruder called Hollowface. While a little boy and his mother in Spain is being haunted by the same visitor, but by the end you find out their is a connection between these two children and why they are being haunted by this imaginary being.I love how this film took place in <more> |
Well worth a trip to the cinema! (by heymuche) |
I'm not normally a fan of scary movies but the inclusion of Clive Owen convinced me to give this film a look and I wasn't disappointed. It's cleverly constructed & wastes no time setting up the creepy atmosphere which lasts throughout. To some extent the storyline was predictable however the interesting ending left me more than satisfied. Here's hoping they never make a sequel as it's perfect as a one off experience.Try not to watch the trailer or read anything more than a brief summary and make your way to the cinema as soon as this one comes out as it's worthy of <more> |
When no one believes you.. (by w_qidan) |
A lot of us have came through this life stage where you wake up scared and horrified, sometimes even screaming, because of a nightmare, most of our parents used to calm us down and explain to us why those things that scared you do not actually exist.Intruders 2011 staring the beautiful young actress Ella Purnell as Mia and Clive Owen as her father - John Farrow makes use of that horrifying situation when you know for sure that something is there in your room and no one believes you. In the movie, since the monster was passed on by the family, specifically by John Farrow and his Mexican <more> |
Enjoyable twist/non-twist depending on your outlook (by mike-613-161182) |
I watch these things with the innocence of the non-detective who doesn't see the obvious connections coming up until they are almost upon me. So seemingly in spite of what some have said about this, I thought it was a good movie - kid-scary in places - who hasn't been afraid of the dark shadows in one's room, looked under the bed or the strange shadows at the window? Well acted - seemingly out of Clive Owen's normal modus operandi. The supporting cast were also well cast. I just hope he rang his mother before he dropped in on her seemingly unannounced. Was the baddie his real <more> |
Psycho Thriller - very good (by fureetutawk) |
People are too uneducated these days about scary movies, they think they should all be 'horror' movies. You'll see this 'disappointment' in a lot of reviews for this movie: Oh it was the worst horror movie ever, not scary enough, blah blah. But see,.. it's a Psycho Thriller. It's about the mind. Not blood and gore, not melting flesh. It's about how horror comes to life around us - when it is real, when it is imagined, and when it's real because it has been imagined.Good movie. Enjoy. This sentence is here just because IMDb thinks reviews have to be longer <more> |
An intriguing Thriller / Horror with a solid a cast (by med77_99) |
I am a big fan of Horror / thriller, so when i first heard about Intruders and that it started Clive Owen, I instantly got hooked and waited eagerly for the DVD release.I must say, i was not disappointed. from the start of the movie, i immediately got hooked with the characters and the story, which involved two separate parts that later on joined together in a nice little twist.both involved young kids in two different countries " need to watch this with subtitles " haunted by something which remained unclear for the audience at first, the kids seemed to believe that they are some <more> |
Scary and enjoyable (by msmchug) |
This film is a good scary thriller. Clive Owen is the main character and gives a convincing performance of a dad who is trying to catch "hollow face" the man who appears in his daughters bedroom at night. The film also flips back to a similar story in Spain, where hollow face comes to a little boys room at night. There aren't lots of effects or gore in this film. It's just a simple story of a creepy man who visits children at night. The two halves of the story come together nicely, as hollow face presence seems to intensify - with the police and social work involved the <more> |
