Yeah! Get on with your badassself Trav! (by juanmuscle)
I got one plan, one thing on my mind, to tap into the badass side of myself in this all out grindfest all the way to the top... Something Trav might say in this cool lil' meatloaf bazaar. You got three minutes Trav to kick ass, ask a couple of questions and get out! Loving every second of it... John and the bad ass dude from HBO hit 'OZ' do some major damage. And the best part is, it does not take long before the action kicks into overdrive, yeah that's right, I'm a race car Jule and right now I'm running on red ! haha, you know what that's about, its about time <more>
Trav goes into fullblownz killing mode, revenge style. The action is heavy, the plot is sort of thin, but who cares, we got back up in the way of that cool bro, and pretty soon the grinder turns on and meatbags start flying, and there is no reanimating these simple thugs, they were born dead, out on the streets and they should've never messed with Trav's love, cause when Trav gets mad, he explodes like a racecar too long in the red, its got double packed Wrathful ending that will leave you spinning and wanting just lil' extra taste. Could have done with the 'How I went from bad to worse after school bad guy lesson speech' but hey, you can't win them all, all I know is that, once in a while you have to simply throw some meat in a grinder and watch the stupid meaty extremities fall where they may' May I please get a lil' bbq sauce on my meatbags? Thank you... Loving it.
OK, I'm exaggerating somewhat giving this a 10 but i have to balance the skulduggery bad voting badmouthing this Movie because it attacks people in Power. Unfortunately it's a fairy-tale. The good guys almost never are well-trained and coming out from combat-forces. Those are usually the bad guys. But even if it is a fairy-tale it still leaves a warm feeling and a thought, like in Taken, that the bad guys sometimes hit the wrong guys and get their come-up-pens. Why I give this Movie extra Points is that the revenge does not shy away from the highest positions the last guy in the line <more>
might just as well have been the president or maybe even higher up - the people behind the president . That's a nice touch, somehow.
Travolta, not a guy who brings my curiosity into watching movies, but as we can mostly agree, a great actor, does the perfect credible tough guy with this movie. His actual BMI, his talent and of course the simpleness of this movie brings the spectator a trip back where movies were about their genre, in this case an action movie. There is no life changing message in this one, you won't cry or laugh, you'll just have a great time, with credible characters, a bit of fantasy perceived as luck and a simple plot that works like a clock. I wish this movie had as much credit as it deserves. <more>
My personal yet insignificant congratulations to all the cast. I hope they keep on pursuing this style, it really tires to have 2 decades of heroes with who look like Ken from Barbie.
this was really good despite the rating that some gave (by ohiohoney-1)
I was thinking that at first this would not be the best movie, because some times John Travolta movies are kind of lame, but this one had me fooled. You'll be surprised when you watch it. Yes, there are plenty of goofs, and yes, Travolta is wearing a wig...but as it turns out, this movie is full of action and plenty of deceit from the cops and higher- ups...you'll like it if you like revenge. I really liked his friend and his surprises in his basement, made me laugh. Yes, there are a couple of slow spots, but lots of movies have slow spots - but, please stay tuned - because, <more>
you'll like the surprise ending... my lips are sealed so stay on the edge of your seats, folks! :- it's going to be a bumpy night.
Starts weak but gets better and better throughout (by philchappell-30942)
Man, if your up for an old school revenge movie then this is it. The best part of this movie is the partnership between Stan Travolta and Dennis Meloni . The banter between the two is just spot on and hilarious. As the movie goes on it really feels like these two have a past and are syncing back up into their old ways. Stan tries to keep Dennis out of it at first but, when Dennis keeps pushing Stan let's him in on the mission and it feels organic. Of course there's some cheesy moments in this movie but, suprisingly there aren't as many as you would expect. Yes, you did expect <more>
some cheesy moments or your not too bright... the movie is called 'I Am Wrath' for heavens sake.If your looking for a movie to pass the time, expecting it to be worth watching but forgettable and then suddenly come out pleasantly surprised then check this out. I know I wasn't expecting too much from this movie and ended up loving it. Perfect ending too.My only problem with the movie is there's a clearly significant death around the end of the movie that has no emotional reaction from any characters at any point. I kept waiting to see a funeral or a freak out but it was like the person killed just didn't exist. It was strange.Well worth the watch.
I don't know what others expected but...I liked it! (by shreeree)
I enjoyed this film. I don't know what those who didn't expect since it was a vendetta film and most of them don't have as well an ending. Also in a vendetta movie not much hasn't been done so I don't get the bad reviews. The first part is reminiscence of Charles Bronson film Death Wish. The bad guys being so over the top it makes you want them dead. You know the the type. They're in every action film and like roaches they keep coming no matter how hard you hit them they get back up and no matter how many you kill they keep coming. These thugs killing the woman he loves <more>
and no one but her family seems to care about gives him a beyond reasoning mentality to get her the justice the bad cops can't give him.He teams up with his old OPs partner that don't give him a choice and they start cleaning the streets, bad cops, and higher ups in the process of getting the ones that actually did the crime against his wife. You find out there was more too it, so it explains why it was over the top for a simple robbery.I for one enjoyed the byplay between John and Christopher's characters. Reminiscent of Tango and Cash except you know they have a brotherhood-of-arms camaraderie for each other. The thing that makes it different is the ending. So many times in vengeance films the good guys temporarily gone bad have to die for not doing things the legal ways. It's like Hollywood way of not encouraging vengeance as if we aren't smart enough to know it's a movie. This movie knows we get it, so I was pleased with the ending. As far as John Travolta's wigs I don't know why he feel the need at this point in his career. I think he was sexy as all get out in "From Paris With Love" with the bald head and goatee but, that's my thing. If you have a head full of hair that's great. If not embrace the bald or close cut look with pride because that's sexier than toupee or wigs. Balding hasn't stopped Christopher from being sexy. E...v...e...r.
Just watched this film and really enjoyed it. Straight into the action after a couple of minutes, no hanging around , just get in there ! Senseless killing to start the ball rolling, then it quickly becomes obvious that there is a lot of corruption around. Drug dealing scum galore, bent cops and politician, bit like the real world ! Trav is a bit like his character from Reservoir Dogs, plenty of kicking ass. His buddy , the guy who used to be in Law & Order: Special Victims, does a great job of turning up at the right time and dishing out some "tough love". A few neat little one <more>
liners and banter between the two tough guys adds to the enjoyment of the movie. All out revenge is the dish of the day, and rightly so. Predictable in places but that just adds to the overall feel of the movie. Please Trav get that wig sorted, acting at the beginning was a bit wooden. But overall, couple of nice twists and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a sequel ? Who knows ?

Yvan Gauthier and Paul Sloan are responsible for his tight script directed by Chuck Russell and for a change of pace in the current run of corruption in the police force and in politicians in general this film stands out as a cut above the usual tales.Stanley John Travolta works with cars his history includes Black Ops years ago and is happily married to Vivian Rebecca De Mornay when Vivian is killed by a group of thugs. Though Stanley identifies the killer Luis Da Silva. Jr. from a lineup the police Sam Trammell refuse to arrest him because Stanley was not a reliable witness! This <more>
starts Stanley's revenge ideas and his is aided by a fellow Black Ops colleague from the past Christopher Meloni – never better! and together they take down the thugs that are tied to the governor Patrick St. Esprit in all manner of crime ventures. The theme is a distasteful if familiar one but the buddy aspect of Travolta and Meloni overcomes any flaws the film may have. Excellent photography and violence sequences. A strong film for this genre.
