Yet another impressive film from director Adam Mason (by lucyloo7122) |
Adam Mason's latest film "Hangman" is the tale of a creepy, disturbed home invasion. The story unfolds sequentially, both from the perspective of an innocent family who set out on holiday, only to return to find their home ransacked; and their twisted tormentor who is far from content at leaving it there.Shot entirely using security cameras and hand held video recorders, Hangman benefits from Mason's fast, punchy editing to create a more dynamic, hard-hitting way of storytelling than is usually seen with this style of film making. The cast throughout are excellent. I dont see why people hate it! (by sciontc-82924) |
I've honestly watched this movie probably 6 different times since it released and I've loved every time I watched it. Most of the POV found footage style killer movies, you don't really see it from the perspective of the killer. To me, when people complain about the lack of info on the character, I think it slowly starts to creep in throughout the story. I found that the movie is more about getting to know him rather than the family. The beginning: "tell me you love me.." before stabbing the woman in the first film invasion was pretty haunting. Ignore the hate - a genuinely disturbing movie (by djcalver) |
I'm really surprised at the negative reception of the film, so went into this film expecting to turn it off after 10 minutes. However, given that the majority of raters probably also contributed to rating the awful borefest that is 'Gravity' a 7.8/10, I should've done what I normally do and completely ignored the ratings and most reviews.'Hangman' is a genuinely disturbing film. For fans of 'real' horror and by that I mean things that absolutely could happen, disregarding ghosts and evil spirits , then this is perfect. Almost everything that happens in the <more> |
Not a Horror to me but more a intense thriller (by jonerogers) |
Well I am a Horror fan and so picking this for that reason but alas it was not such a horror as it seemed. Having said that i was on the edge of my seat a number of times as the suspense of the next act was upon me. A film that kept me and my partner entertained and with a cast of people i have not seen before except for Kate Ashfield who played a lead role in Shaun of the Dead. it played out well, mostly set in a Suburban House in America with a few outdoor scenes it really was a good thriller. It was no slasher film nor was there any brutal scenes barring a little towards the end but it did <more> |
Great Movie (by myprettylittlebookreviews) |
I am super surprised to see all the terrible reviews for this one because I really enjoyed watching it. Sure, it's not the most creepy "found footage" movie out there but the acting was great and the plot line disturbing. I would definitely recommend this one to fellow viewers. |
