This movie is good! (by FrancoStein) |
Yes i didn't expect much coming into this movie but i am sure glad i caught it. The story itself is good enough for a viewer to come check it out. There is so much drama and action in this movie that it will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout. Like scarface this movie ranks among the top of my gangster movie lists. Its much more entertaining than '8 mile' and has more action than 'hustle and flow'. The directing was phenomenal and beautiful, and 50 cent shines in it. Like a lot of rapper turned actors, 50 is actually a pretty good and this movie has made me <more> |
it was off da chain~ (by RMG31259) |
i went to the screening last night and i loved the movie. not only have i gained a newfound respect for 50 but his acting was perfect. when i got home and seen he was on David lettermans show and he stated that 75% of the movie was true to his life...well to see where he is now and who he has become has made me become one of his #1 fans. i love u 50~the other actors in his movie also played great parts. i am already looking forward to seeing him in more movies. now anytime i look at his face and see that dimple, i will know what it represents. joy bryant portrayed his woman in the movie and <more> |
Think Outside of the Box (by seitanicvegan) |
I watched this movie for one reason: Terrence Howard. As always, Howard is brilliant. The other performances are solid, including Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson who, for people who don't seem to understand this, plays himself. If 50 Cent were to "act", as some maintain, then he would not be portraying his true self, and the entire movie would self-destruct into a moot point. The camera shots, angles, and lighting are superb, the dialog is genuine, and the plot line is believable. But this is not run-of-the-mill Hollywood fare. There is no seamless stream of canned <more> |
Get Rich or Die Trying' (by vc152000) |
This movie is doomed for poor reviews. In real life, 50 is the protégé of Eminem, and now he decides to do a movie based on his life at the same point in his career as Eminem did. The funny thing is, it's a good movie. I am a fan of this genre of music in small doses, but i have no personal crush on 50 cent and I found this movie intriguing. 50 didn't wreck any scenes. In fact, he was similar to eminem in this role, never looking out of place or forcing anything. As previously mentioned, there are so many 50 bashers and people who feel rappers have no right to be in the movie <more> |
go hide 50 times ! (by toscane-toscane) |
Marcus has always known he was going to be a rapper, but when his mother is murdered, he turns to dealing--hustling drugs pays the rent. As his world spirals out of control, he begins to apply the same manic intensity to his writing as he does to dealing; he has to write down his words to stay sane. For years, he endures this living hell until a tragedy that nearly kills him gets Marcus to change his lifedon't believe synopsis, when you see MTV films, run away !I put a 9, I slept very nicely, the shooting woke me up sometimes though. You can see skin but only if you have the DVD or the <more> |
For 50's fans (by Jordan669) |
For the average listener of 50's music, I think this is a movie of what 50 I truly trying to say only in movie form. If your in for something similar to 8 mile look elsewhere. This is a movie that stays true to it's story and Jim Sheridan doesn't dictate from the reality of life. This a departure from Sheridans normality world of the criticisms of British class structure and the struggle we go through in that class. Sheridan expands beyond the class structure of Britian and shifts to the gritty world of NYC gangsta life. If your a viewer looking for the true life of 50 then this <more> |
It isn't *that* bad. (by katyiana) |
I don't see why everyone has such a problem with this movie - I thought it was okay, it wasn't the best movie I've ever seen, and it didn't have the best acting ever, but it certainly wasn't the worst movie ever. The ending wasn't too good, but the movie wasn't too shabby, the storyline was good and it proved to keep me entertained for the full two hours. I learnt a lot about 50 cent during the movie, even though I'm not a fan of rap and/or 50 cent himself, I still enjoyed it.The movie gives you inspiration, if 50 cent can go through a lot and come out of it a <more> |
Some people are being so unfair to 50 Cent.... (by vlopez4) |
I seen this movie and I think it was really unfair all the crap people are saying about 50 Cent. I thought he did a really decent job for his first time acting. This is just one of those movies you HAVE to see for yourself and not listen to all the hype.I really enjoyed getting a deeper look at what 50 what he is today and hope he makes acting a regular part of his career. OF course Terrence Howard gave a really great performance. I always enjoy watching him. I thought 50 played well off of him and I would really like to see them in another movie together. But really don't let all the <more> |
Great Movie (by CyberMerge) |
This movie got a lot of bad ratings from many reviewers. I saw the movie recently and thought it was great. It wasn't an Oscar winning movie but it got me on the edge of my seat. The movie is very similar to Eminems 8 Mile, as in it shows little reference to the artists life. The name is different but it shows some similarty to Curtis '50 Cent' Jacksons life. The movie has action, drama, gang fights, romance, and a whole lot more. This is definitely a movie you should go see when you want to see a good movie. Some may say 50 cent is a sell out with a movie and a video game coming out <more> |
