This was a nice change and I loved the movie. Definitely worth watching. If you are a cookie-cutter type of person, this is not the typical American Horror or gore movie. It does have a story line and the actors are good. They are believable. It is refreshing to watch a movie that is not the same thing over and over. This isn't and it is rooted in legend which is awesome because it is not simply American legend. It is more about the story than simply the scare. Don't believe what others have written about it being bad. I think it depends on what people like. It is a good movie. Watch <more>
First of all it's scary as hell , I'm a big fan of horror movies I've seen everyone now but they weren't scary , but Dijinn scared me and got me SO excited puts you on the edge of your seats , people were screaming , but they were a couple of comedic scenes to give us a little bit of a rest and a laugh , most of the movie they speak English only a little Arabic , actors were not familiar but I knew a couple , they're acting was SO amazing they really did a good job at it , Al Hamra has a rich history with ghosts and dijinn and haunting in real life , nonetheless it's a <more>
must watch movie I give 10/10 , I would watch it a million times and I would never get bored , it's pretty short , but worth the time and money , thanks for reading
This is NOT a bad movie. I enjoyed it. It's not a B movie. The acting is decent. The story is awesome. I love those folk stories, the stories that are legends, myths, that have been around so long you wonder if they are true. The production is really good. The direction I esp liked. The ending was great, too. It surprised me, I was expecting the usual Hollywood ending , didn't happen. It kinda freaked me out too. But for hard core horror fans , I don't think you will enjoy this. If you liked Mama, or Sinister, this movie is your type. It isn't gory, no bad cheap sex scenes, or <more>
jump scares. This is an old fashioned ghost story. But really cool, because it's an Arab ghost story. I'm part Arab, I am not a Muslim though, but I have wanted to go and see this part of the world for a long time. Obviously, it's too dangerous to visit , and I actually am afraid to go there , just because I'm considered American , and the customs and so on. Islam scares me. But I think it's something in the blood. I also am familiar with many aspects of the culture and it's nice to see something I can relate with, in a way. Something different and mysterious. I didn't like this movie because I'm biased. I liked this movie because it's good and anyone can enjoy it. It is a great and scary legend to make a film about. Very good!
Horror, but could have been better. (by hamzasamhan-132-219272)
As a horror fan, I liked this movie. the directing of the movie is awesome, But in terms of story line, acting, script, the end..etc there are many points which I think if were taken into consideration, the movie would have been one of the greatest horror movies ever, since the subject is really freaking scary for everyone living in this area, it is a mix between ghosts and exorcism. Points that am talking about are for instance, the early exposure of Um Dwais, abstract and tasteless reflection of Islamic rituals on story line , and this thing in particular if it was properly implemented <more>
within the story, it would have been more scary. especially that this movie is performed by mainly Arab Muslims, in an Arab Muslim land, where they have good access to the resources and they should know more about the Arabic/Islamic culture movie shows the ghost side of Djinn, and neglects the exorcism . I agree with previous critic about the absence of chemistry between the actors, especially Salama family. in general, there is great suspense all along the movie, it is worth watching, I think it is even much better than many other famous ghost movies from Hollywood.
