Never fails to amaze, entertain, or make you cry (by wolf_stoned)
I just absolutely LOVE this movie!!! This is my #1 favorite Balto movie!! Anyone could be touched by this movie. It's sweet and has a sweet and happy ending. Here's what I said in a nutshell: OMG I JUST ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!! Please get this movie for your kids - or yourself if you are a major "Balto" fan, like I am. I don't see how anyone couldn't like this amazing movie from an amazing series that deserves to see more public recognition than it does already. A good plot, great and memorable ending, enjoyable well-voiced characters, and a slight bit of humor <more>
are a few elements of this great movie. The songs are great as well. Add this and the other Balto movies to your collection if you don't have them. The ending will touch you and stay with you forever. One more thing - at the end, break out the tissues. You may cry. I've watched it like twenty times, and it has never failed to amaze me or make me cry. :_ EXCELLENT MOVIE - A MUST SEE!
read!!!may contain spoilers may not depends what you call spoilers read at own risk if you care about spoilers!!! This was an awesome movie about balto and i must say if you hate this movie then your standards are to high.it does have some flaws but it has an excellent plot a little slow maybe the artistry is awesome to my opinion and i like how Ainu looks in this one it could have been drawn better but warmer climate less fur. if you were a fan of balto then you may have doubts with this but if you just are a fan of movies you'll love this. its about baltos daughter and how she finds <more>
out about her heritage and runs away balto must find her an adventure in itself and get her back home. i live in America and must wait another month before balto 3 comes out. :' only bad thing is Jeanna does not have enough air time and the other pups don't really have anything to do with the story o well i g2g watch this movie it has awesome music.
for me no matter how this movie got away from reality of the first, it's still a very nice movie with beautiful music, what reminds me of first, the characters are cool, and the scenario is too beautiful, gives a nice continuation to Balto, showing that he becomes father, Balto has a perfect way to be a father, and deserved one more film to prove it Another thing that I loved in this film was Balto's daughter that is very well designed and has a beautiful voice, the film also has an exciting ending, it made me cry a few times with this beautiful end, Balto 2 doesn't deserve so <more>
many complaints,It's a perfect movie for children, because if I'm still in love with this movie isn't hard to some kids like too, recommends
Though it doesn't hold up to the wonderful original Balto, this is one of the very few animated film sequels that didn't totally make me gag. The storyline is completely different thankfully not going the 'Oh, no! Another epidemic!' route one would expect and the entire movie takes a Native American twist, focusing less of dog-sleds and more on the Wolf roots of both Balto and his daughter, Aleu. The songs are touching and beautiful, my favorites being "Taking You Home" and "Who You Really Are". "Taking You Home" is probably the only song <more>
I've ever heard from an animated film that has ever made me cry- and it take a lot to make me cry. This film, combined with the original Balto film, would be a wonderful little gift pack for anyone who's a fan.
A worth-seeing DTV animated movie. (by steetboris)
Of course, Balto 2 is nothing like the original; like most animated DTV sequels, it has been made with a low budget, so don't expect it to be as good as the original was. However, I think it's still a good sequel : the story is fine if not compared to the first , the backgrounds are beautiful, and the musics are excellent in several scenes. Usually I hate the songs from those DTV sequels, but here they aren't annoying and even worth listening. The only bad point I would give is the animation itself, which is really bad in a few scenes and looks more like a TV show ie the bear <more>
scene... , but as I said it is often the case with DTV sequels. Also, the characters look and act a bit differently from the first. But from a general point of view, it's still an enjoyable quest, and I think it could have been much worse...So, a good direct-to-video, perhaps one of the best, but not at the level of the original. If you liked the first Balto, then you should at least rent B2. And if you don't like this sequel, then wait for the third Balto, which from everything I heard, like the return of the original writers will be a lot better, and will stick more to the original!
Low budget DTV sequel. Different from the original, very spiritual and mystical. It is about a journey of self-discovery and a balance in the world. Something that a whole family can watch, both very very small kids and adults. Leaves you with a good feeling. I put 9/10.
Better than first expected (by ajnrules)
After seeing the commercials for this movie a bunch of times while watching TV, they only imply that this is one of those cute, kiddy, been-there-done-that film that non-Disney studios pop out once every month to combat the giant Disney empire. However, while actually watching this film, it turns out to be something completely different. This film is *gasp* actually pretty good, and is easily better than the first! The story, in a nutshell, is that our hero, Balto, had babies. While most of the pups look like their mother, one of them looks more like a wolf than a dog. She grows up and is <more>
unable to accept the fact she is more wolf-like than dog-like, then runs away. She doesn't like being dominated by her father. Meanwhile, both of them have the same dream filled with ice, a raven, caribou, and wolves. Well, both of them embark on a journey that manages to include all elements of the two dreams, then runs into a pack of wolves who must either leave the land they lived on for years or starve to death. Balto's daughter realizes her destiny is to leave her family and lead the wolves. Balto understands and lets her leave.Yeah, I make it sound generic, but believe me, IT IS NOT! This film may be one of many that feature the "journey to find oneself" theme, but it succeeds extremely well! The message is deep, and the presentation is haunting with a little bit of comedy mixed in the comedy is quite ordinary, so that may explain why the commercial makes the movie look so generic. Add a great voice acting with talents such as Mark Hamill, Rob Paulsen, Jodi Benson etc., and you've got what may be the best direct-to-video animated motion picture ever made.
The original "Balto" movie had exactly one good scene, where the talking animals stopped talking and the idiotic polar bears stopped being idiotic and the wolf feelings underneath showed through. The sequel... I can't say its spiritual ideas go deep, because they don't... but at least most of the film actually feels good to watch. The chicken and polar bears don't intrude too much, and the faux-evil wolves keep their faux-evil posturing down to a chunk that lasts a few minutes. Most of the film is actually, legitimately about growth and what it means to be a wolf. It <more>
touches on some valuable spiritual ideas, as well.Balto II: Wolf Quest is a film I'm glad and proud to own on DVD. The original, I watched once as a rental and never bothered to buy.
Well I would like to say that i enjoy the movie. The movie is about Balto and his daughter named Aleu, she later discovers that she half dog, half wolf. She goes on journey to find who she really is. At the time Balto goes and try to find his missing daughter. I enjoy the movie when I was little but since I got older I seem to notice some of the errors they did in the movie. I especially hated the ending, it was as if the writers of the movie didn't want to explain the movie fully. It annoyed me at the end that Aleu crossed the great water i 4got the name anyways i thought the writers <more>
should at least shown how Aleu's pack made it thought we already know that she became the alpha of the pack. But at least have another movie to tell what happen to Aleu. But most of all i Lacey Chabert she did a wonderful job and to Marice/ Balto. The songs kinda mess up the storyline except my favorite who you really are or who are you
