Excellent Movie (by l-s-ross) |
SPOILER ALERTS IN THIS REVIEW: I don't know where the negative reviewer got "kid talking and banging his toy," but that didn't happen in the movie. I have to say that I was influenced by his review, but after seeing several people go into the theater to see this movie, I decided it was worth the risk. By the title alone, you know it is a somewhat religious movie. Spoiler Alert: Does he die in the movie, yes. Does he come back, yes. This premise is already out there, but I thought I'd list it as SA anyway. The movie was very thought provoking. It also, for those who have <more> |
Really good movie about Faith, Endurance during hardship, Love, and Compassion! (by crystals_zoo) |
I've read the book "90 minutes in heaven" when it first came out and was glad when they finally made the movie! This is about a pastor who was involved in an accident and was declared dead for at least 90 minutes. What happened next was a journey of pain and discovery, through faith and love of family and friends and many others who prayed for God to move in a miraculous way! We don't always understand why we go through incredible pain and loss, but when we trust in the God who knows every thing, we can witness how He works it all out for His Glory. I really liked this movie <more> |
An amazing movie and a must see for all religious people. (by maxfom) |
The movie in my opinion was very inspiring. Don Piper told his story of what he went through and why God made him go through it. The movie was very well put together and expressed. I would recommend everyone to see this for themselves and share this with their friends and family. I'd hope that if you see this, that you would learn something from it as I did. I could compare this movie with the film called 'Heaven is for Real' as that had a similar story. They both talk about Heaven and have a clear message. For those who are saying that the movie is not all about what was in Heaven <more> |
This Is The Way It Is (by phillip-181) |
No meta-monsters tearing through buildings, ripping apart bridges, burning everything here and there. This is an accurate depiction of the pain and horror 1000s suffer weekly in accidents just in the USA, much less the globe. What is tough, putting one's self in the role of the damaged man who has seen, paraphrasing Dr Martin Luther King, "The glory of the Lord." That he didn't want to immediately suffer the horrendous pain after experiencing the Afterlife is not a unique story. Others have told it, just not this well. Suffering with him, his wife, the kids, the parents, <more> |
90 Minutes in Heaven is a very inspirational movie (by tavm) |
Hayden Christensen is Don Piper, a preacher who gets into a vehicle accident and seems dead when he's checked by authorities. Kate Bosworth as his wife Eva, who has to take care of him while he tries to recuperate. I'll stop there and just say this was quite an inspirational true story depicted on screen that I watched with my movie theatre-working friend. We both were very touched by what was happening and the scene where Don tells Eva about his experiences in Heaven was perhaps the most touching of those scenes. My favorite scene has Don's teenage daughter asking him to dance <more> |
Definitely worth finding a theatre showing this one (by racliff) |
Interestingly, albeit not surprising, the two largest cities of our area are not even showing '90 Minutes in Heaven'. We attended the movie having little idea what to expect. We are not frequent theatre attendees, generally limiting are visit to visually impressive block-busters, like Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Episode III.This is a movie one will either enjoy or will not, and I expect you would know this before you even get there. Don Piper is a Texas Baptist minister who wrote an autobiographical story about his life and death experience; a truck crushes <more> |
Why the hate? Swap Christianity with the Force and this would get 10 stars. (by LordIsMyShepherd) |
Hi all,After seeing 4.4 stars I was very close to passing on this movie. I'm glad I didn't. I'm a Christian and I very much enjoyed the raw human truths and emotions that were displayed in this movie. The movie was a faithful adaptation of the book, but I think it could have done a better job of explaining why Don was so standoffish. The book gives a better explanation on why Don has shut down. In essence, heaven is such a wonderful place to him that he becomes apathetic to the world around him. Don wants to die and doesn't understand why he has to go through the immense pain <more> |
